Hong Kong tea courses and workshops: how to choose?

When choosing a Hong Kong tea course, start with what you want to learn: comparing aroma and flavour, practising brewing, or exploring tea-serving etiquette. Beginners do not need prior tea knowledge. Consider your interests, experience and time for practice, rather than choosing by the course name alone.

A tea workshop is an introductory, one-off experience. Demonstrations, hands-on brewing and comparative tasting help you understand teaware and preparation. White tea courses explore styles, leaf quantity, water temperature and infusion timing; Korean tea ceremony focuses on teaware arrangement, serving sequences and etiquette. A workshop helps you explore a direction; it is not equivalent to completing structured training.

For progressive practice or recognition arrangements, consider a structured course. The Korean Tea Ceremony Workshop provides a Reborn Tea certificate of attendance. The certification course requires study, applicable requirements and assessment before an application for recognition through the association’s procedures. These are not the same certificate. Confirm the scope of recognition, requirements and application arrangements before enrolling.

For flavour comparisons, explore white tea tasting and brewing; for cultural etiquette, try the Korean Tea Ceremony Workshop; for ongoing study, see the structured certification course. Teams can explore corporate tea workshops. Read our tea workshop guide and white tea guide, then share your learning goals and enquire about suitable arrangements.

White Tea Tasting and Brewing Workshop

From New White Tea to Aged White Tea

「Understand white tea through a single leaf: a complete guide to product styles, picking, withering, age and brewing」

White tea may seem simple to produce, yet it demands a deep understanding of its raw materials and natural conditions. In this course, participants compare white teas of different grades and styles, from Silver Needle and White Peony to Shou Mei, exploring how the proportion of buds to leaves, picking season, withering and drying affect aroma, liquor texture and infusion endurance. They also develop a foundation for distinguishing new white tea from aged white tea.

Tea course and workshop questions

How should beginners in Hong Kong choose a tea course? Is experience needed?

Neither the Korean Tea Ceremony Workshop nor the White Tea Tasting and Brewing Workshop requires prior tea experience. Choose white tea if you enjoy comparing aroma, flavour and brewing methods, or Korean tea ceremony if you are interested in Korean culture, teaware and serving etiquette. For ongoing study, check the structured course’s entry and assessment requirements and enquire about suitable arrangements.

How does a workshop attendance certificate differ from Korean tea ceremony certification?

The Korean Tea Ceremony Workshop is an introductory, one-off experience and provides a Reborn Tea certificate of attendance on completion. The certification course involves structured study, course requirements and assessment before applying for recognition through the Korea Tea Ceremony Association’s procedures. These are not the same certificate. Confirm the scope of recognition, requirements and application arrangements before enrolling.
